Spiritual direction is one of my favorite ministries. As a certified spiritual director I walk with other men and serve as a companion on their journey of faith, providing personalized insight and support, helping them along the way to better hear the voice of God.
Understanding spiritual direction
Spiritual direction is an essential part of the journey towards union with God. St. Bernard of Clairvaux said that “Anyone who takes himself for his own spiritual director is the disciple of a fool,” meaning that every person who aspires to a high degree of holiness should have a director. Just as every great athlete has a coach, so every great saint has a director. All of us have blind spots and need someone to help us along the way. A spiritual director is a companion on the journey who provides guidance and support in navigating the spiritual life, allowing them to better see and understand God’s unique call for their life.
